All eyewear purchased for children eighteen years and under at EyeglassUniverse.com are provided with polycarbonate lenses to meet minimum impact protection standards in the United States.  Trivex lenses are an upgrade for any children's frame if you desire.  Any frame designed specifically for sport or safety applications will be outfitted with polycarbonate or Trivex lenses only.  These frames and goggles are specifically designed and manufactured to meet or exceed all of the appropriate impact standards in the United States.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Optometric Association (AOA), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) all recommend protective eyewear for children and adults participating in sports or activities that pose a risk for eye injuries.
